Sustainability Strategy for Ballivor Horse Show

1. Environmental Responsibility

Waste Management: Implement a recycling program with clearly marked bins for paper,
plastic, and organic waste. Encourage exhibitors and attendees to minimise single-use
plastics.
Eco-Friendly Infrastructure: Reusing signage on a medium to long term basis. Considering
biodegradable materials for replacements signage and future purchases of decorations.

2. Sustainable Agriculture & Animal Welfare

Local Sourcing: Partner with local farmers for water and supplies to support sustainable
agriculture.

Ethical Treatment: Ensure all partcipatng horses are treated with care, following guidelines
set by the Irish Shows Association.

Veterinary Oversight: Have qualified veterinarians on-site to monitor animal health and
welfare.

3. Education

Workshops & Awareness: Ensure representations at sessions on sustainable farming, equine
welfare, and environmental conservation provided by our governing bodies or Meath County
Council.

4. Carbon Footprint Reduction

Transportation Solutions: Promote carpooling to reduce emissions.
Sustainable Energy: Utilise renewable energy sources where possible.

5. Ethical Business Practices

Sustainable Sponsorships: Engage with sponsors who prioritise environmental and ethical
business practices.

Green Procurement: Source materials and services from environmentally responsible
suppliers.

Transparency & Reporting: Regularly assess and report sustainability efforts to stakeholders
including yearly reports to the Irish Shows Association.
